Welcome to SMS

The Swedish Meteorological Society (SMS) was founded in 1959 and is a society open for everyone interested in meteorology. 
At present SMS has about 310 members and most of the meteorologists in Sweden are members. SMS
arranges lectures and publish the paper Polarfront four times every year. 
SMS promotes meteorological cooperation within the Nordic countries and every second year a Nordic meteorological meeting takes place. SMS also look forward to cooperate with meteorological societes in all of Europe. 
The most of the SMS-activities is concentraded to Norrköping (where the head office of SMHI is situated) and the Stockholm/Uppsala area.
SMS also has some activities at SMS Nord (Luleå/Sundsvall) and SMS Syd (Malmö/Lund/Göteborg)
